Scarface - Al Pacino
Alfredo James "Al" Pacino, born April 25, 1940 in East Harlem in New York, is an American actor. During his long career, he has played many popular and acclaimed roles, including Michael Corleone in The Godfather trilogy, Tony Montana in Scarface (1983) and the lead role in the Sidney Lumet-directed films Serpico (1973) and A Devil's Afternoon (1975). He was awarded an Oscar for best male lead in the film Scent of a Woman (1992) and has also been awarded a dozen other awards for his acting efforts.
In 1968, Pacino won an Obie Award for his role as an alcoholic psychopath in the off-Broadway play The Indian Wants the Bronx, and the following year he received a Tony Award for playing a drug addict in Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie on Broadway. In the same year, he made his film debut in a supporting role in Me, Natalie.
Pacino's big breakthrough came in 1972 in The Godfather, in the role of Michael Corleone. He also had success as the main character in the movie Scarface.
Pacino was awarded an Oscar in 1992 for Scent of a Woman. Despite all his film successes, the theater stage remains Pacino's greatest love.
