Elvis Aaron Presley, born January 8, 1935, in Tupelo, Mississippi, and passed away on August 16, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, was an American singer and actor. He is considered one of the most influential and successful artists in music and film of the 20th century. With his unique voice and stage presence, Elvis became known as the "King of Rock and Roll," and his music revolutionized an entire generation.

Elvis began his music career in 1954 when he recorded his first single "That's All Right" for the small record label Sun Records in Memphis. After releasing several singles and albums on Sun Records, he signed a contract with the larger record label RCA Victor in 1955. His first album, "Elvis Presley," was released in 1956 and quickly became a best-seller.

Presley became a national sensation during the 1950s with hits such as "Heartbreak Hotel," "Hound Dog," and "Jailhouse Rock." He combined elements of country, gospel, and rhythm and blues, creating a unique and groundbreaking musical style.

Elvis' film career began in 1956 with the movie "Love Me Tender," and during the 1960s, he starred in a series of successful musical films, such as "Blue Hawaii" and "Viva Las Vegas." In total, Elvis appeared in over 30 films, and his movie performances helped solidify his status as a pop culture icon.

Although his music and film career began to decline during the 1970s, Elvis continued to perform live and tour until his passing in 1977. He is considered one of the most successful solo artists of all time, with over one billion records sold worldwide. Even after his death, Elvis Presley's music and cultural legacy continue to influence and inspire new generations of musicians and fans.
